Taylor Swift certainly has an eye for real estate.
Last week, her Beverly Hills home, once owned by Hollywood royalty, was designated an historic landmark by the City. Work will now begin to restore the property to its original glory.
So, why was Taylor Swift's Beverly Hills home designated an historic landmark?
Taylor Swift acquired the property in 2015 for $25 million even though the property was originally listed at $39 million. Built by legendary film mogul Samuel Goldwyn in 1934, the property was regularly used as collateral to fund his blossoming empire. He was the co-founder of Goldwyn Pictures, which eventually became MGM and, as they say, the rest is history.
Set on almost two acres of prime real estate in Beverly Hills, this Georgian-style mansion was designed by architect Douglas Honnold. The 11,000 sq. ft. home has six bedrooms, five bathrooms, and includes a guest suite with its own private entrance. The formal living and dining rooms are complemented by a wood-paneled library and grand fireplace. It can’t be too difficult to relax in this kind of atmosphere!
The only item that Taylor Swift is missing? A divine Beverly Drive Candle from Only in Beverly Hills -- a fittingly exclusive scent for an extraordinary residence.
